We know you might have questions about how we create our personalized videos. Whether you’re curious about the process, timing, or what makes us different, we’ve got you covered. Below, you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions we receive. If you need more details or have a unique question, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help!
What makes Scrapbook Films different from other video services?
Simply put, we’re story-driven filmmakers, not just content creators. Our entire process is built around connection—getting to know you, understanding your world, and earning the trust to capture it honestly. We bring a lean, agile approach to filmmaking and a deep love for the craft, resulting in a film that captures the true heart of your work. We’re here to help you tell your story, beautifully.
How does the process work?
Our process is collaborative and begins with discovery. We start with a conversation to explore your vision and the heart of the story you want to tell. From there, we move into filming, where we focus on capturing authentic moments in the environments that shape you. Finally, the narrative is shaped in the edit suite, where we meticulously weave every element into a film that resonates deeply.
How long does it take to complete a film?
The timeline can vary depending on the project, but most films take about 4-6 weeks from start to finish. We’ll keep you updated every step of the way.
Can I include my own photos and videos?
Absolutely. We believe these treasured artifacts are essential. Personal photos, archival footage, and other pieces of your history add irreplaceable texture and depth. We specialize in weaving these moments into the larger narrative, giving them a new life within your film.
Do you offer different packages or custom options?
Yes. We’ve structured our most popular services into clear, transparent packages to make your choice simple. For our Family Legacy Portrait, we offer three distinct tiers—The Mini Memoir, The Heirloom, and The Archive—so you can easily choose the scope that’s right for you. We also have set packages for our Founder Film, Little Hellos, and StoryLayers add-ons. This way, you have a clear understanding of the investment from the start. For very large or unique projects, like ‘The Company Legacy,’ we’re happy to provide a custom quote.
Can we get other family members or coworkers involved in the videos?
Definitely! We love including multiple voices to make the story richer. Whether it’s a mix of family members, friends, or your team at work, their perspectives and stories help create a fuller, more engaging film.
We’re not sure exactly what we want in the video. Can you help us figure it out?
Of course! Think of us as your creative guides. We’ll chat about your ideas, your must-haves, and even the stuff you’re unsure of. We’re here to make suggestions and help shape your vision into something truly special.
How do you handle tricky family dynamics or sensitive subjects?
We get it—every family has its complexities. We’re all about capturing the true essence of your story while handling sensitive topics with care. We’ll work closely with you to ensure the final film feels right and respects everyone involved.
Our old photos and videos aren’t in the best shape. Can you still use them?
Absolutely! We’ve got some great tools for sprucing up old or damaged photos and videos. Whether it’s cleaning up old footage or enhancing faded photos, we’ll do our best to bring your memories back to life and make them look great on film.
We need the video finished by a specific date. Is that doable?
Of course. We understand that many films are tied to specific dates and events. We will absolutely build our production schedule around your deadline. The more advance notice we have, the better we can plan to deliver your film on time without compromising our creative process.
