Heritage Voices
Preserving the stories that define a community, one voice at a time.
A community’s soul lives in its stories—in the memories of the elder who carried traditions forward, the shopkeeper whose store was the heart of the neighbourhood, and the family who built a new life from scratch. These aren’t just personal memories; they’re the living roots of your community’s identity.
But these stories, often unwritten, are fragile. Heritage Voices is our commitment to preserving this intangible heritage before it fades. Each film is a dignified, cinematic portrait that captures the spirit of a community in the words of someone who lived it—creating a permanent, living archive for generations to come.

More Than a Film: A Partnership in Preservation
We know that for many community groups, historical societies, and cultural organizations, the will to preserve these stories is strong—but resources can be limited. That’s why we offer more than just a film service; we offer a partnership.
We specialize in helping organizations like yours build a media component into grant applications. We’ll help define the scope of your project, create a realistic production budget, and provide expert language for proposals to funders like the Canada History Fund or the Documentary Heritage Communities Program. A simple film becomes a fully funded cultural preservation project—allowing for deeper, more lasting impact.
Weave in the Visual Proof of Your Community’s History
An elder’s voice provides the soul of the story—but seeing the visual proof of their journey makes it unforgettable. Weaving in archival materials—historical photographs, newspaper clippings, or old community footage—adds depth and authenticity, turning a personal memory into a shared historical record.
Why These Stories Are a Vital Legacy
- For the Community: To create a powerful rallying point that fosters identity, belonging, and pride in a shared past.
- For Future Generations: To build a tangible connection to their roots—ensuring the values, traditions, and sacrifices of those who came before are never forgotten.
- For the Storyteller: To honour their life and contribution with the dignity it deserves, preserving their voice as a permanent part of the community’s memory.
